Chevrolet terminated the captive import policy with the LUV (a.k.a. Isuzu KB) after 1982 when the S10 replaced the LUV although Latin American nations still imported it with a bowtie emblem (esp in Arica, Chile) - Isuzu established its dealerships during the early 1980s where the LUV was rebranded as the P'Up (the I-Mark was the former Buick/Opel aka Opel Isuzu (sold in its native market as the Isuzu Gemini); the same truck platform was sold as a Holden in the Australasia region as the Holden Rodeo (the Rodeo nameplate was used on the truck - the US Rodeo was a rebadged Isuzu Wizard)... The second gen model also came with the diesel motor - which has a 50 MPG rating (GM at the time still had its joint venture with Isuzu where the early S10s came with the 1.9 and 2.3L diesel until 1985 (at the time the 2.0 from the Cavalier was used with the S10 as a manufacturing option) when the 2.5L Tech IV replaced it |
