I'm a bit puzzled by this split windshield. |

I had the same trouble with this one, but I finally understood: it's a 1946-49 Renault 208D, or 7 Tonnes, precursor of the Fainéant. 1946 Renault 208 D [R4080] in IMCDb habits ![]() _____ Edit: it could be a 12 Tonnes too, in fact. -- Last edit: 2015-03-27 02:54:30 |

For me it is too narrowed-faced to be a 208 D. I think it's a 2T or 2,5T of the earliest version. But I can't find references and pics to support my impression. |

Maybe not a 208D indeed (I didn't noticed how low are the headlamps on this truck), but I think the grille (only one-piece here) and the headlamps (that shouldn't be out of the body) really don't fit for a 2 Tonnes or a 2.5 Tonnes, even for the 1947 models as shown by the Renault de Papier web site. And we can't expect it to be a 1946 prototype still used in 1955 ![]() By the way, what are these 2 handles on the hood? Could it be something other than a Renault? -- Last edit: 2015-04-15 05:23:40 |
