UK intro was Sept 82 as SJ410, hard and soft top versions. No info on UK use of Samurai name - maybe only a later special edition?? |

The X90 was the replacement of the Samurai here in NA, but it only lasted for two years |

for me X90 was a different thing but yes, we could consider it as a replacement. for me Sidekick was the real successor of the Samurai, even if they shared the same showroom, kind of classic and modern thing... |

indeed, but Suzuki said that the X90 was the Samurais replacement when it came out in 1996, and the X90 was just a Sidekick with a sporty body, sadly had Consumer reports not hurt Suzuki's image so much we would have gotten the Jimny here in 1998 too, but the damage was already done -- Last edit: 2015-04-11 17:37:43 |

We still get the Jimny after all these years: http://www.suzuki.co.uk/cars/cars/new/jimny/jimny |

yeah, seen that way...X90 and Sidekick shared everything but the body.... wish we could had the Jimny too, looks like a cute little thing. maybe costs for adaptation to NA regulations played a part in the fact that we didn't got it ( and the X90's commercial failure compared to the Sidekick ) -- Last edit: 2015-04-11 17:59:29 |
