That's a '53 GMC chassis with a body from a company that specializes in school buses. The pics on this page are of a '48 - '54 GMC or Chevy. With a body from Wayne?

A 1947-55 Chevrolet Advance-Design bus or GMC New Design one, but in no case an International Harvester!

@Skywatcher68 & timo: for the record, the linked bus is a 1954-55 model, with such a grille. A 1947-53 one looks that way.

With what can be seen from "ours", if the fender badge seems indeed to be a GMC one (a 1951-52 Chevrolet one would be longer), no detail indicate a precise model year in the 1947-55 range.
I don't know the name of the series for the 1947-48 models years (just New Design?), but the 1949-51 models were HCS-Series and 1952-55 were S-Series.
