Yes. This model ran until 35, when it was replaced by the much more rakish Series II, with smart styling although similar underpinnings but only three forward speeds for the first year. -- Last edit: 2014-12-19 08:51:39 |

From a further look at the image, you can see how bad things were for the British motorist in 1951 due to the economic position of the country and the need to export every new car built to get foreign exchange. Here is an 18 year old car, well past its prime, but still in use and in a film. There is a broken headlight and sidelight, and the plated hubcaps are missing, the front near side wing has been crudely straightened after a bump and the car looks close to being taken off the road. If my memory of the car is correct the glass in the side windows may well have discoloured to a sort of murky yellow.
