Colour and trim say 1973+ Innocenti Mini Cooper 1300 Export. Few went to the UK, too. |

Yes - UK got a handful, including a RHD conversion. But it was an unofficial import exercise, and I think used Belgian-built cars from Seneffe. British Leyland refused to support it because they did not want competition for the 1275GT, and I think the story was they pressured Innocenti into stopping the exercise by threatening to cut off the engine supply for all Cooper 1300 (which was actually British-built Austin 1300 GT engine). |

I clearly remember I was quite surprised to see in central London (Kensington) a dark blue Innocenti Mini 1001 in April 1979 as I, almost 18 years old, was first in UK. It had got such conversion, too. I spotted another one but I cannot remember the version and colour (maybe a red Cooper with a black top). |
