I drove a 1973 Coupe dé Ville for 9 years. The 1973 Limousine is in my opinion the most dynamic designed limousine by Cadillac in the 1970s. It does not have the exterior split between the front and rear doors like the 1971 and 1972 models, yet the altered front and rear bumber design ads to the lenght and slim design without making it too look heavy. I agree they are beautiful cars. Many feel the new energy absorbing bumpers that came out in '73 degraded the looks of the cars they were applied to but I disagree and feel they added a massive, almost classic solidity that really appeals to me. Im most cases, GM and Ford did a better job of integrating the new bumpers into their front end designs than did Chrysler in my opinion. |
