Only 3 models offered in '56: Medalist, Montclair, Monterey Only the Medalist lacks a round emblem on the front fender trim, which this doesn't appear to have. That means this is a 1956 Mercury Medalist, only the 7th one on the site. |

Medalist was a very basic model, with limited trim and not offered in the upscale hardtop body. This is a Custom, which ranked between the Medalist and the Monterey (there were 4 series, not 3). |
