I'm pretty sure his scene didn't make the final cut of the movie, even though it was in the trailer. We see the aftermath of the crash, but the two cars never appear on screen.

I saw an early screening in France.

It's remains are seen, but not very clearly. Maybe **, as the character is seen struggling to get out and the crash is important to the plot.

They do appear on screen, but only very, very briefly and only parts of them are seen.

I posted this in the Tokyo Drift forum:
So, the 2006 book The Fast and the Furious The Official Car Guide lists this as a 1994 RX-7. Numerous other pages, including the Fast & Furious wiki label it a 1997 http://fastandfurious.wikia.com/wiki/1997_Mazda_RX-7. This site shows the registration as 1992 Link to "www.neweraimports.com" Which is it?

Don't believe anything that is listed on the Fast and Furious Wiki. That is not a reliable source.
