LCC = London County Council. sequence is about transporting evacuees out of London. Also using ordinary lorries, with a relaxed attitude to Risk Assessments... |

Having spent the last few years dodging lumps of explosive metal dropping out of the sky, a ride in the back of a truck must have presented a low risk profile. Those vehicles in the main pic look like converted large cars (ex Army Humber staff cars?) to me. -- Last edit: 2014-08-30 09:30:35 |

Humber as a wartime London Auxiliary Ambulance http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205195903 edit: identified I believe as 1935 Humber Snipe 80 by the Fulham LCC ambulances... http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205199266 -- Last edit: 2014-08-31 21:18:34 |

Clearly some fabulous ambulances in service during WW2 - probably a bit challenging to drive in times of blackout. |
