Riley?? Plate is xGJ, but can't read x. AGJ started 1933, so it shouldn't be earlier.

Riley for sure, too far from the camera to be sure which of the many body types it is, and whether it's got four or six cylinders.

Best fit, due to no supporting bar between the headlights, and general body shape is 12/4 Kestrel.

But that is only my opinion, and open to change if anyone feels they have better/different reasoning. The reason Riley had to be rescued by Nuffield was, in part, too many models. Trying to pick a most common Riley is like trying to choose from a stack of well engineered ball bearings.

That looks like a 1938 Kestrel - identified by the slatted radiator grille and ramrod straight front bumper. It could be a 12/4 or 15/6, most likely the former.
