VW Typ 147 Kleinlieferwagen - nicknamed "Fridolin" http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/VW_Fridolin (Article in German only) http://www.vw-fridolin-ig.de/ Some facts, translated: The 147/Fridolin was made especially for the German postal service, Deutsche Bundespost (at that time before privatization). It used parts from the Käfer/Bug, Karmann Ghia (!), 1500 series and the Type 2 VW-Bus/Transporter. Most of the back parts are from the Transporter, engine, axles etc. are from the Bug, the frame was from the Ghia. The vehicle was assembled by Westfalia. "Fridolin" was its unofficial nickname, which was more widespread than the correct name of "Typ 147"...
