Winchester, but can't tell you which Mark number. Are you sure about 1957, I think it's later, the film is 1968, making the taxi an unlikely 11 years old, plus it's one of the later front end designs. -- Last edit: 2014-08-09 22:32:05 |

The design of London taxis was regulated by the Metropolitan Police, via something called the London Cab Office, IIRC. This was the first fibreglass cab approved for use in London, as far as I can recall, the earlier ones sounded like Mk I Cortinas, because they used the Ford 1500 engine. History of Winchesters below, Mk III died in 1968, Mk IV until 1972.
