It's stock footage, so they probably are real LAPD cars. The IMDB says the film was shot in South Africa and Hong Kong, and the captures that are definitely real Hong Kong locations could be second unit or stock footage. |

I have no doubts that this is real footage from a LAPD police station |

You deserve your alias ![]() Seen on the LAPD page of policecarwebsite.net: "List of cars used by the Los Angeles Police Department ... ...1982 thru 1991: a mix of Chevrolet Impala/Caprices and Ford (LTD) Crown Victorias were used." And the first LTD Crown Victoria listed in the page shows a 1985 model (2nd half of the LAPD page; sorry, no anchor to link to, and they seem to block distant viewing of their pictures ![]() -- Last edit: 2014-04-04 12:35:04 |

This is indeed stock footage of an LAPD station parking lot. I know for a fact that the LAPD purchased 1983 LTD Crown Victorias. I don't know what was purchased for the 1984-1985 models, but It was all Caprices from 1986-1989. So there's a strong possibility that this is a 1983 model, but it could also be a 1984-1985 model depending on what was purchased those years. |

Interesting that LAPD kept the door moldings on. Most departments remove these, correct? |
