I have the vague idea it's some sort of two-door wagon:

on the right, the end of the door, on the left the rear wheel.

All I had to go on was the main picture. Please compare it with the view of the right side of the car shown in the link. The rolled edge of the wing, the shape of the piercing in the wheel (where you can see it), and the pressed shape of the front bumper, plus the position of the starting handle aperture all point to this being a 1947+ Ford V-8 Pilot, whether a saloon or a wagon who could guess from the information in the main picture?

Non, but, er, yes, John, OK, I just told the vague idea I had had out of nothing.

You certainly are right, it's probably a Ford Pilot V8, and maybe the same than this one /vehicle_687555.html

The wheel looks like it's from a pre-war British Ford V8.

The Ford V-8 Pilot used the same body as the 1937 to 1939 Ford V-8 Model 62, but with the 30hp 3622cc engine instead of the 22hp 2227cc version, so any resemblance is to be expected. The grille, however, is definitely off a Pilot, vertical grille bars instead of horizontal as the pre-war car.
