130rapid ◊ 2026-03-31 16:31	Hold your horses. I'd say the raised bonnet was TE/TF all versions feature. It was simpler & cheaper than two bonnets. Nice & clean 2.0 GL (R4). TE/TF owners FB page.
dsl ◊ 2026-03-31 19:16	Some TE had flat bonnet - example - although with very slight contour lines so not totally flat. Look also at the front edge of the bonnet above the main grille - the raised bonnet has a slightly thicker central portion. Took me some time to spot, but now I've got my eye in it's noticeable. Alongside this I'm puzzled why we have so few [TF] Cortinas - were they only briefly available in Aus??
dsl ◊ 2026-03-31 19:25	^ I've just answered my own question from this page - apparently by the TF phase, the Cortina was regarded as ‘A pile of poo with indicators’ which seems a bit harsh and was dropped in 81, so explaining its rarity. That page also has a useful scroll-through set of TF pics, showing both flat and raised bonnet formats.
