This actual vehicle USA 257X Mini Automatic was my first 4 wheeled car (with hand controls), initial was a S.H.H.D. (Scottish Home & Health Department) AC Model-70 Blue three wheeler. This BMC Mini was leased new on a 3yr term via the Motability scheme. Registered and delivered via Aberdeen Motors, then in Justice Mill Lane Aberdeen. Colour code is: BLVC423 Opaline Metalic (HMW). On the steel floor-pan under the driver’s side carpet, there is/was a three point tear in the steel pressing, caused by driving over a large chunk of Granite hardcore (fallen off a lorry) that the vehicle's low height failed to clear. DIY repair was effected with x2 2inch washers, sealed with underseal and bolted in place. If the current owner is interested, I would like to explore the potential purchase of this PNC index/number plate, for sentimental reasons? Please contact me via this site… Sincere thanks. Ron |

@ron1882 - judging from the plate info, the car was probably scrapped in 1991. As this Mini is the only recorded entry for the USA 257X plate, that probably died with the car. So any chance of getting the plate would depend on an approach to DVLA with a request to re-issue. I don't know how it would work, but my impression is that if a plate is surrendered, it is gone forever. But I could be wrong .... |
