Yes - Italians bought rights to this brand/logo and use it now in own country. But in fact Pewex is sort of abbreviation of the Polish "Przedsiębiorstwo Eksportu Wewnętrznego" (~internal export company). These shops, known to every Pole, sold various goods for the hard currency only and then dissaperad from Poland in the first half of the 90s. Europe is really a jumble of things, everyday you discover something of new... I only wonder why someone has taken the trouble to buy the logo rights for an unknown entity, at least here in Italy... |
