I thought it was a Bedford TJ (J4, J5, J6) like http://ccmv.aecsouthall.co.uk/p157466816 at first, but I now realize a 1948 - 52 Ford F-series http://auto.howstuffworks.com/1948-1952-ford-fseries-trucks.htm is more likely (bonnet, indicators, cabin).
