Mk2 1300 trim - I think our first one on an ADO16 Marina. |

Annother ADO16 behind the Volvo: /vehicle.php?id=620263 there was no ADO16-assembling in DK, or? I thought that, because of the plenty of them, I've spotted in the 70ies and 80ies. |

Link to "www.aronline.co.uk" says no DK assembly, but a recent model car article says there was, which explains why Tekno modelled early Mk1 Morris and MG 1100s. My guess is that there may have been early Mk1 assembly, but switched to importing sometime later in Mk1 period or maybe with 1968 Mk2 intro; suggest we stick with the aronline version of events, but accept the possibility that this may be over-simplified so further info could mean we change tactics. Tekno also modelled the mid-50s Morris Cowley for the same reason, with the box having a line drawing of the DK factory. DK seem to have been very selective about which BMC products to assemble - eg they did Minor Travellers (including panel van versions) and a unique van with a longer rear body, but never any saloons (which sold well in DK). |

The ADO16 never wore the Marina badge. Marina is an entirely different model line |

It did in Denmark - see the aronline link above - but nowhere else. DK often renamed 60s BMC products - Minis were renamed Morris Mascot and Austin Partner, 1800s sold as Austin Windsor and Morris Monaco. No idea why DK did this renaming but it is confirmed that they did. |

This sounds very strange because the REAL Morris Marina (ADO28) was also sold in Denmark! I clearly remember seeing the two-door fastback version there in the mid/late 1970s (not sure about the four-door sedan but probably yes). -- Last edit: 2023-02-14 16:10:25 |

From this page on ARonline. My guess is that during the 1960s DK had its own BMC distributor - DOMI - who built Morris Minors and sold other BMC product, often with strange names. It seems that in 1972 DOMI dropped ADO16 Marinas and replaced them with the new ADO 28 Marinas, so yes both Marina types were sold. |
