As far as I know the NYPD never used these Ford as police cars. But - as I was corrected by another member - they used at least an accurate livery of the 90's NYPD cruisers. |

Actually it isn't. They never used white stripes that narrow and the Precinct was not in italic font to my knowledge. Also, they made the textbook mistake of adding blue lights to the light bar. NYPD has never used blue lights. only red/orange/white combo's. |

I think they used these for the Highway Patrol. |

The stripes are actually correct as seen here: http://policecarwebsite.net/fc/ny/nypd/nypd947.jpg . The picture also shows that the Pct. and fleet number was actually in italic font. The only issue is the light bar. Not many patrol units had blue in the bar but some special ones, such as ESU trucks and some task force cars. |
