Bentley. Big P100 headlights suggest Mk.V 1939-41, but I'm no authority. |

Only 17 MkV chassis were completed before the intervention of WW2. Of these only 7 or so are thought to exist, as some were dismantled, and most of those built had Park Ward coachwork. This car is a Mk VI or an R-type with what looks like H J Mulliner coachwork to design no 7220, probably a Mk VI with those separated headlamps. That bloke and his goon are standing right in front of the areas most needed for accurate recognition. -- Last edit: 2013-02-13 12:38:40 |

It is a late Mark VI or R-type by H.J.Mulliner, I agree with John. |

The car is not shown in the latest edition of the Bentley Drivers Club publication "Members and their Bentleys", nor is it apparent in Bernard King's book "Bentley R-type", but I think that I have found it elsewhere! It is HJM Design No 7220, but modified by the front lights being separate rather than faired in. http://www.flickr.com/photos/telkine/8030678110/ and here, you can just make out the "DEV" from the numberplate.
