If one looks at the back of the car, where a third brake light would normally be, you can see the stunt driver's head. The steering column was switched to the rear of the car so that Arnold could focus on shooting while the stunt driver maneuvered the car. The driver's head is well-seen in some of these thumbnails:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2013-01-09 10:11:27 |

If this car has not been altered by the placement of the police equipment, I would say it is a 1985. All '83's had a tag behind the front wheels on the fender stating "Automatic Overdrive" or "Electronic Fuel Injection". When the '84's were introduced, they also had this tag but it may have been deleted during the '84 run. All '85's had no tag. (I am particularly intersted in '85 Crown Vic's since I own one) |

The light bar is a Federal Signal Jet-Sonic which was introduced in 1982 as a successor to the mid '70s AeroDynic, Which was preceded by the square edged TwinSonic. |

It depends on whether this car was originally built to police specifications or is an altered civilian one. My understanding is that police-spec cars did not have the side tag while the non-police versions did. |
