Can't help sorry, stripped out dirt bikes are difficult and his leg is obscuring the engine.

Either A), he needs some air in those tyres or B), he needs to delete the pie shop number from speed dial.

I don't know if it was broadcast in the UK, if it was it would probably be Friday or Saturday evening which meant I was in the pub!

Everard’s Tiger Bitter, Marston’s Pedigree, or Titanic Iceberg?

None of those available round here John, nowadays it's Jennings from Cockermouth or Wm Youngers, back then I was much enamoured of John Peel Golden Bitter.

Can't comment on the Younger's or the John Peel, which is a new one on me, but in my days of visiting the shipyard at Barrow I consumed a fair amount of Jennings.

Workington Brewery was originally John Peel ales, when Mattie Browns took over and converted the place to Slalom Lager, the John Peel was brewed in Blackburn specifically for west Cumbria, then came Scottish & Newcastle who closed everything.

Jennings is wonderful stuff, I'd want something considerably stronger to want to spend any time on Barrow Island though, those tenement blocks are a scary place.

I might just take you up on that, although if the diagnosis goes the wrong way I hope you have gluten free beers?

Yes, there are some, but I never tried them. Years ago a friend with gluten-allergy and me tried hemp-beer -THC-free [:kiki] - it was disgusting.

I quite liked the altbier in Düsseldorf, and I also like weissbier from time to time, and if I buy beer to drink at home it tends to be Stella Artois, because it’s cheap in Sainsbury’s. So, if it’s beer, I’ll drink it!

The Queen’s at Biggar Bank isn’t at all scary, nor the Swan at Newby Bridge.

None of the examples are real beers for real beer connaisseurs.

Stella Artois should be cheap, it's mass produced lager... Only abroad they market it as "premium."
Omer Traditional Blond is my current favourite.

You would have to look very hard to find a beer that is better than well kept Marston’s Pedigree.

Coniston Bluebird is highly recommended, by me! (as he sits on the sofa with bottle of Amstel in hand, £9 a case in B&M).

Lodged in Barrow for a year . Stayed in a pub on Walney Island for a while , can't remember the brew , may be Jennings.

I think it also had a bowling green attached which apparently is not unusual in the North West.

Do remember that the room TV had no controls and was connected to the bar TV so you had to watch what was on in the bar !
