It was delivered to Carlo Felice Bianchi Anderloni's Carrozzeria Touring and first registered to the Alfa Romeo Works in May 1933 with plate MI 43454. It later raced and nearly won the 1935 Monte Carlo Rally driven by Luigi Chinetti/Jean Trevaux, and later returned to the Works for repairs and sold to Giacomo Brenta of Budapest in late 1935, then sold to Signor Giulio Rimoldi on 15 April 1937. It was shipped to England on board the SS Tonbridge leaving Calais on 5 May. Rimoldi fitted a quilted bonnet cover to protect the car from the elements and large baggage trunks on its running boards. In 1950 the fuel tank was reduced in size to accommodate two child seats just under the rear access hatches. The seats were removed by Rimoldi in 1966 and the access doors re-attached. After Rimoldi's death in 1988 it had approximately 60,000 miles on its odometer and was sold at Christie's 1989 Monaco sale achieving a world record price." from link ^, which resolves the inconsistencies in dates from plate info.
