How strange that they register it like that. Factory registration? (Rover tended to register cars in Coventry as well as Birmingham). Its first registration is just ahead of the official launch. -- Last edit: 2012-10-01 19:42:17 |

Wow! A C-reg? A 1986 C-reg 800 would most certainly be a pre-production car. Official 800 production started in mid/late 1986 so the first cars to roll off the production line would have been registered on a D-plate. In fact the Gaydon motor museum in Warwickshire has the first ever 800 built registered on a D-plate. D170 OOJ. All C-registered 800s were pre-production examples released to the press/dealers as demonstrator/showroom examples, some of which were later sold to the public. -- Last edit: 2013-09-01 01:17:47 |

Book reference that C472 and C474 AKV were prepared by Rover as police demomstrators with 2.5 engine and poverty 820e trim and loaned out to several forces. Nothing for C484. |

Bet that C470 AKV through through C485 AKV were Rover demos (not sure if they were all 825s or even police demonstrators) |
