No, the last year for the Fox-body Thunderbird was '88. In '89, the next generation (the MN12 platform) came out. |

This one is 1984/85 Ford Thunderbird Fila trim due to absence of extra headlights under the bumper and wider wheel tread. |

"Knight of the Drones"--the 3rd season 2-hour premiere. Bonnie was back, and Michael & KITT were up against some bad, robotic/remote control red Ford Thunderbirds...awesome and one of my favorite episodes!  This was the fall of 1984...and from the way these T-Birds are showcased throughout the episode I would assume Ford had made a deal with "Knight Rider" and NBC to "advertise" their brand new models. So, this was either a current 1984...or the brand new 1985 model Thunderbird! A brand new silver Mercury Cougar was also showcased in this episode--the bad guy who programmed the "evil" Thunderbirds drove it. -- Last edit: 2013-02-07 07:21:55 |

They weren't 1985 models. The new round dash debuted for 1985. These cars had the boxy fairmount dash which makes them 1983/1984 models. It also appears the steering wheel which was borrowed from the crown victoria may have been 1983 only.
