The short hood suggests this is a Dictator 6, not a President 8. The bustle trunk ID's this as a Cruising Sedan. Custom sedans had an almost flush rear profile. If the hub caps have the stylized "P", then likely a President; but "STUDEBAKER" on the caps for the Dictator models. [Unless someone made do with scrounged caps in a foreign country.] All decked out with dual side-mounts and fender lamps, it would be called a State President. I don't know if the same "State" applied when it was a Dictator. |
