![]() For a Luxemburgish gas station it's quite small. And only one single. Though it's a tiny country, you will find there the biggest gas stations in Europe: Link to "www.welt.de" Link to "www.mainpost.de" http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e0/Mertert-tankstellen.jpg http://www.luxoil.lu/upload/pages/kraftstoff_tankstelle.jpg (with something for rljuna2 on the roof ![]() Caused by the fact, that Luxemburg has the cheapest fuel-prices in Europe, so much cheaper, that it makes sense for the neighbours in Germany, Belgium and France, to drive dozens of kilometers, just for filling up the tank. And for buying alcoholic beverages, especially strong stuff. This is cheap there, too. The next German town (over 2000 years old) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trier has over 100.000 inhabitants - but only three gas stations ![]() The Luxemburgish village besides ( http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wasserbillig ) has only 2.300 inhabitants - but 14 gas stations. And some are the biggest in Europe from the brands. |

@ingo: The gas station is in the corner of a hypermarket car park, which would explain why it's small by Luxembourg standards. ![]() -- Last edit: 2012-01-17 14:03:02 |

Hypermarket? Rather not. This building in Nissen hut-style ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissen_hut ) is way too small. And not to forget, what's written on the sign - "Mini Mart". Mini, not Hyper ![]() |

I didn't even look at the sign. ![]() |

Well, it's quite common in Luxemburg, that gas stations have an added supermarket, where you can buy the other cheaper goods, for those the customers came from abroad. In Luxemburg alcoholic beverages (cigarettes and tobacco, too, I guess. But I'm not sure). So the AVIA-station in NL, where I often fill up Diesel, has also an own little supermarket: http://moto-markt.nl/pages/de/tankstelle.php In the Netherlands mainly for coffee, which is much cheaper then in Germany. And for non-prescription medicaments and tobacco, too (just watch the banner on their page ![]() And the Dutch people prefer the German restaurants and Gasthäuser. So this: /movie.php?id=446460 is irritating and not really comprehensible for me ![]() -- Last edit: 2012-01-17 20:34:27 |
