How many of these do we have with RHD? Where could it have been made? |

If Germany was making RHD KADs, why did they not do the obvious thing of trying to sell a few in UK after the brand relaunch here in Oct 67? Did RHD KADs appear anywhere else - Aus, NZ, HK etc? |

To your first question: more obvious would be the manner of the GM-mother, not to disturb the local Vauxhall sellings with internal rivals. There are several countries, where Opel and Vauxhall were sold parallel, at least everywhere in Europe but except West Germany. Here they didn't want to disturb the Opel-production, despite the fact, that over here Vauxhall would have had the same fate as all other British porrdige-makes: noone would have bought it. To the second question: RHD Opels were sold in HK and J for sure, in AUS and NZ not (probably caused by the exitence of Holden). |

The only Vauxhalls, which ever appeared on the West German market, were the Chevette and the Bedford CF. About the Chevette I've recently heard a little footnote: /vehicle.php?id=113335 |

I have got the October 1965 edition of a popular British car magazine, in the case specifically about the '65 london motor show, and, among a few other, The Diplomat A (but not the Admiral) is available with a definite price. |

Interesting... KAD (A) Opel with RHD conversion, but the windscreen wipers are still mounted as they would be on the LHD versions. Never seen this before. Why go through all that trouble instead of just importing a big Vauxhall or Holden? |
