GMC panel truck. FC-101 is 1/2-ton. FC-253 is 1-ton. I assume it is 1/2-ton FC-101. |

(The picture has 00:05:17 time code) + With that push-button door handle, it's a 1952 model. ![]() 00:05:21 + According to the 2nd picture of kegare, it has a 2 parts windshield: it's a '53 max model. + The Advance-Design body Panel truck had a 116" (1/2 ton) or a 137" (1 ton) wheelbase: to me, like lightninboy says, the one of the movie seems to be only 116". ![]() (1/2 ton model: 196.62" / 4.99 m long; 1 ton model: 227.94" / 5.78 m long) + The GMC 1/2 ton was named FC-101 from 1947 to 1950, 101-22 from 1951 to 1953 and 101-24 for 1954-1955. So for me it's a 1952 GMC 101-22 Panel truck, which should deserve an [Advance-Design] body/chassis id. -- Last edit: 2014-04-11 23:01:48 |

(Some months and readings later...) Almost all is already said: panel from the GMC New Design trucks line. Based on the small ½-ton 100 model, so with the 101-22 GMC internal code. Which gives, in the correct order: ⇒ 1952 GMC New Design Panel [101-22] |
