There is a logo/badge in the first thumbnail. It looks like: T C L |

I think that was added for the film. TCL could stand for something like "Transports en commun de Léopoldville". (Léopoldville was the capital of the Belgian Congo, and was renamed Kinshasa after independence.) The bus appears to be right hand drive (otherwise the driver would be visible in the window) and there's a door four windows along, so it was probably obtained locally in Mozambique or Zimbabwe (depending on where this scene was filmed) and repainted. P.S. This bus in Harare is very similar: Link to "www.sa-transport.co.za" |

Although I don't know, what a bus it is, I'm sure, that it's way too new for a movie set in 1960/61. |

Based on the photos on John Veerkamp's site (he's just added a Zimbabwe section), this appears to be an "AVM-DAF" chassis bodied in Zimbabwe by Zambezi Coach Works: http://www.bus-planet.com/bus/bus-africa/Zimbabwe-site/buses/frame.html |

I've belatedly noticed that it should be "Zambesi", not "Zambezi". Apologies. |
