Any car with 666 plates usually has a sad fate. One of my favourite T-shirt designs - http://www.visualcandy.co.uk/pd-668-the-neighbour-of-the-best-t-shirt.cfm . As for dating the car - when did they start/stop putting side badges on the rear wings?

Anyone else remember the story about the guy who had a Capri with 666 in the plate?

Bad things kept happening to him and it. Was a very unreliable car.

It was on TV about 15 years ago.

dsl wrote As for dating the car it's an early one - when did they start/stop putting side badges on the rear wings?

Never noticed they could disappear before the more radical changes of 1975 m.y., but, at least judging by the Google results, it seems, that 1974 cars (lower than TX) already didin't have them - to confirm.*
Notice, the car here has new 1973 front badge, no side repeaters since late 1971, but still orange indicators...

* Edit confirmed: http://www.amicale-r16.com/amicaleR16p7historiquedela16.htm no rear side deco since late 1973 - but maybe still can be puzzled car (it clearly is a wreck).

Edit 2: Ops - 929V6 wrote about the rear decoration once and even on page from "my" film - belated respects! ==> /vehicle_298469-Renault-16-1974.html
