1967-1968(bumpers without overriders and centre dip for apply license-plate) |

Center dip bumpers came in 1962. Overriders were always an option on all Checkers. This one has the tall windshield, so it's at least a 68. The rear shot shows the taillights and license plate configuration which seems to point to 1968 as well. Quick note though, Checker had a tendency to "tinker" a little... well, they tinkered a LOT, with options, configurations, etc. As a small manufacturer, it was easy for them to tweak stuff on the fly. Also, Checker owners are known for "using what they've got" to fix/restore their cars, so sometimes you'll see a later model car with a clearly earlier look. For example, this 72 Checker Marathon is merely a 72 body and bumpers installed on an 80s Checker frame. |
