1952 to 1955 Silver Dawn or, possibly, converted Bentley R-type as the swage line along the bonnet does not match the corner of the radiator. |

My first thought was Bentley until I looked closely at the grille - never thought of a conversion Hubcaps look not to have any badging -- Last edit: 2011-06-26 22:16:06 |

The word Bentley is engraved in letters about 3/8" high in the centre spinner of the hubcap. This car looks to be a bit of a dog, I recognise all the signs of coachwork misery that are present on mine!. -- Last edit: 2011-06-26 22:41:45 |

Looking at the bonnet, which with the R-type opens further down the side, while the Silver Dawn opens higher at the edge, I conclude this is a 1952 - 1955 RollsRoyce Silver Dawn Standard saloon |

In his commentary director Peter Medak says this is a Rolls-Royce belonging to actor William Mervyn who's driving it in this scene. It does have 'RR' hubcaps: > ![]() A closer look as the offending swage line: ![]() |
