Any idea what year this is supposed to be. I thought it was preWW2. I am surprised to see a forklift like this. My guess is 1950s era. |

Wikipedia says modern forklifts were developed in the 1920s. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forklift_truck |

I will have to do some more research. I have a circa 1949 forklift myself but it is English and is an electric. This one is setup to run on propane. It is a pity we can't see the badge to determine the make. |

Episode is set in 1942 or 1943, so must be before that.![]() |

The Clark Utilitruc was produced from 1939 to 1964, Clark said on its website. It had a picture of one. A Clark Carloader forklift is smaller. This particular style of Utilitruc was produced until 1946 at least, said Neon Material Handling on its website. It had pictures of Utilitrucs. You can call this a Clark Utilitruc, and also the one on Starsky and Hutch. -- Last edit: 2012-10-16 14:25:12 |

It was once said during WWII that there was not an air field under Allied control that did not have a CLARK fork lift truck or tow tractor. By the end of the war, the widespread use of CLARK lift trucks by the Allied Forces and war-related industries made "CLARK" and "fork lift" almost synonymous. |

Why isn't this called a Clark Utilitruc? |
