Last week I was sitting in the new Focus. It´s absolutely fantastic. It has got a roomy interior, a beautiful styling, a big boot and a good quality. Currently it´s the best hatchback. (IMHO) |

The smaller the car the greater the chance a hatchback will suceede in the U.S. IMHO. |

It's a generational thing, I think; baby boomers who paid new-car money for the crummy old Pintos, Chevettes and Omnis just don't like hatchbacks and won't buy one again, ever. Gen-Xers like myself have fond(er) memories of those same cars, having come to us as cheap beaters at a time in our lives when we were glad to have any car at all, and then finding our choices in a newer car limited to a pointless four-door sedan or a clunky body-on-frame SUV. Millenials had *THOSE* as their first cars, and this has gotta be pretty sexy to someone who cut their gear teeth on a clapped-out '90s Corolla or Explorer... -- Last edit: 2011-07-05 04:16:49 |
