This rarity was the Stone family car in Season 1. Here's a tail light shot from ep. 1.25: -- Last edit: 2011-02-22 05:20:28 |

Yeah, this car was the first Stone family car they had in the series...this episode being the first time it was shown too, if I remember right. I think other station wagons were used later on. Never cared for Edsels much, but this Bermuda Wagon is kind of interesting...and was it also kind of rare? |

I think the first appearance was the one where Donna took everyone camping, and it's not a very good shot. This episode (1.16) is the first time we ever got such a good shot of it. |

That could be...it's been a few years since I've watched episodes of the show. Supposedly later this spring seasons 4 & 5 are to be released to DVD. We'll see. I'll have to get my first season DVD set out and watch this episode again sometime. |

I would love to see a modern day picture of this one if that's possible, since it still exists. |

carguy60: That's awesome that this old Edsel wagon still exists! I too would love to see a modern day pic if ever possible! Thanks for sharing that superb info. Yoda: Thanks for the stats on Edsel wagons--interesting! Recently a non-cable network called MeTV is showing reruns of tons of older shows from the 50's through the 70's--including "Donna Reed Show". They had Paul Petersen do a special commercial to advertize it for the network (you can watch it at MeTV's website). I'm almost positive they took this episode and put Paul nowdays in place of himself as a child--he talks to Donna in this old Edsel, answering some of her original questions or statements. It's hilarious!! |

For those asking for modern day pictures: https://www.flickr.com/photos/autohistorian/37241708996/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/autohistorian/37241708476/ It's a 9-passenger model, which is the rarest 1958 Edsel of all. |
