Not a Blazer, but it's military twin, the 1984 Chevrolet CUCV M-1009

The OE correct stainless steel mirrors would have been added, along with the rally wheels.

The front bumper (which appears to be painted silver) gives clues that this is no ordinary utility. At each end of the bumper are small square "openings", and then there are those two protruding military spec closed-loop recovery hooks with securing pins. The grille and brush guard also appear to be painted silver.

I figured as much. CUCV's, especially the M-1009's, are still fairly numerous as many still remain in National Guard motor pools.

It would be nice to know how many of the pickups and utilities are still in active service.

I’ve been adding some info to Wiki on the third generation trucks, but haven’t finished yet. Too busy, not enough time.

After some very quick googling, I only found this unconfirmed link:
Link to "ramchargercentral.com"

I occasionally drive by my local National Guard armory. Before the property was reduced, one could see most of the armory's fleet from the street and freeway. There were always a mixture of vehicles, including quite a few CUCV's. They were both in OD green and tan (probably veterans of Desert Storm). I can recall still seeing a few early last year, but now with the property reduced, I can't tell if they're still there. I'll see what else I can dig up.

if you check a site like govliquidations you can see that alot are being auctioned off. IMHO one would make a cool car to have as a collectors item
