If side blinker seems to say "made for Italy", orange blinkers say the contrary...Why not made for Austria? |

This wouldn't make sense. There were never specific, visible details mandatory for the Austrian market. The only thing, I can remember, was a rule from the early 70ies, that the lamp for the back plate has to flash, when you use the headlamp flasher (no idea about the reason for that and the time of the validity of that law ![]() |

OK. When were orange blinker allowed in Italy? |

As I've learned it (at IMCDB...), in 1977. |

Thanks. Orange blinker since 1978 in France, but perhaps before in Italy. |

I think the orange indicators was already on the 1977 model, but the black plastic air grille under the windscreen was new for 1978 model year. |

I believe all Renault get orange blinker for MY 1978 (from september 1977). Early 4 GTL, that went out in 1977, still had white blinker. This squared blinker were new for MY 1977 (and the black grille too) |

Well, maybe Rétroviseur was wrong, but this is what they say (#133, septembre 1999, dossier Renault 4):![]() (j'espère que ce soit lisible) |

There is something wrong somewhere. The 5.000.000 4L went out in 1977, with white blinker and black grille http://renault4l.jimdo.com/histoire-de-la-4l/ I made some mistakes too, as the first 4 GTL test was published in february 1978. Perhaps orange blinker came for my 1979 in July 1978 (was in July instead of September), that's why so few GTL were sold with white blinker (from feb to june 1978). |
