agreed with standard level Bonneville (not a Brougham) rather than LeMans... why 1979 rather than 1978..? |

The front sidemarker tells me that is 1979 version. |

the horizontal trim bar in the middle..? |

Yep, the 1977 has multiple thin horizontal bars. -- Last edit: 2011-01-23 02:02:08 |

i'm seeing this style beginning in '78 both in the only retro ad i found online, and in the (often mistaken) standard catalog of american cars... certainly doesn't mean you're not right... as you generally are. my personal knowledge of 60s pontiac is pretty fair, but by the late 70s... not good enough to know from memory. |

curious to know. the standard catalog is often wrong, and i frequently see ads listed by publication year rather than model year... so you could very well be right... those were just the 1st two examples i found. |

Comparison photos from 1978 and 1979 Bonneville brochures illustrate rjluna2 is indeed correct. Listing this as a 1979. 1978: Link to "www.oldcarbrochures.com" 1979: Link to "www.oldcarbrochures.com" |
