Third generation (2002-2005) Ford Explorer Limited. |

Are you sure that's a Limited? It looks too basic. |

Thats what I thought, but the XLT badge is missing (located in rather large lettering beside the "Explorer" badge)... |

I looked at a couple Explorer XLTs on eBay, and they all had the XLT badge on the back (which we can't see on this vehicle). |

IF it has an XLT badge, it would be on the rear hatch. This is an XLT not a Limited -- Last edit: 2006-06-20 02:40:44 |

Maybe its a XLT, but it is stupid if you think that the only badge is on the rear hatch! Ford has always listed it's badges, my Tempo has in big, bold, chrome print along the side "Tempo AWD" and my neighbor's 04' Explorer XLT has in bold print next to the side badges "XLT" and on the rear hatch Explorer XLT also. My aunts 03' Explorer Limited doesn't even bother listing the Limited next to the Explorer badge! It has a big "Limited" in the right hand corner and in small print "Explorer" above, and on the sides there is no "Explorer" badge only the Limited badge. I've also seen a few second generation Explorer XLS and they also don't list Explorer on the side, only the XLS badge. |

It's not that I think the only badge is on the hatch, it's that I looked at several Explorers that only had the badge on the back. Like this: http://i12.ebayimg.com/02/i/07/73/f8/0f_3.JPG http://i24.ebayimg.com/01/i/07/71/b5/57_3.JPG |

Hmmm, odd. I know three Explorers with model badges on the side.... Maybe it was a package, but I'm pretty sure all second generation Explorers had side model badges. |

XLT did not get fog lamps according to the official brochures: Link to "www.motorologist.com" But yet it was apparently a mid-year release: /vehicle.php?id=513642#Comment2552373 so thanks a lot Ford for having such a long model run you need to release two more brochures after the original. -- Last edit: 2019-07-19 01:00:05 |
