But it's RHD As it's DVLA-listed with first registration in 1979, probably not a Japan-import, or? They had sealed beam-lamps too for a while. |

No it's not, the American (and Canadian) models looked like this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:%2780-%2782_Volvo_240DL_Sedan.JPG as for some reason the American models had to have separate high and low beam head lights. There was also an earlier model with double round head lights for that market. The head lights shown were specific for the upmarket 260 models from 1975 until 1979 when 240 GL/GLE/GLT destined for the European market got them as well albeit with another grill. The 260 model (1975-83) had a raised grill, as shown, something that later was put on the 240 models (not the entry DL model for Europe) from 1984 after they stopped manufacturing the 260. But by then Volvo had introduced the 760 and the 240 needed a boost to remain fresh. -- Last edit: 2010-07-21 20:26:55 |
