Again my question: did the Brazilian made VW kept the small side-windows during all production-years?

Seem to have 4 set vent on the boot, half oval taillights with new bumper. Looks like in the 1970's

I think that is a small window to the production end.

 @stu: a very good link, thanks.

@rljuna2: unfortunately for you, it's in German, but the main changes and chracteristics of the aircooled Brazilian VW's are nicely accentuated.

Maybe our Brazilian members are knowing more, but I'm not really convinced with the informations about the VW 1600 Fusca Quatro Portas. It's written, that it's based on the Käfer/Fusca-platform, but a friend of me, who owns the only Brazilian fourdoor-1600 in Germany (a private import, as his two SP2's, too) told me, that this model is based on the four-door-VW 1500-prototype [Typ31] of 1961, whose only surviving car is still located on the VW-Museum (or the AutoStadt) in Wolfsburg.

1) VW-Brasil never produced the larger windows version (in Europe from 64).
2) This VW is 1.5 litre because the four grille engine cover. 1.3 litre has only two grille cover, the central ones. The colour was Bege Alabastro, a must in the seventies here.
30 This VW-1500 shall be 73-76. The round tail lights were adopted in 80 or 81.

The brazilian VW-1600 4 portas (4 doors) was based in the 61 german 1500. It was launched in 68 with engine very similar to the Sedan (vertical air cooling) and remained in production till the 1600 TL version (2 and 4 doors with flat engine) replaced it around 71.

Ah, thanks for the info. So it's not totally correct on the page, stu has linked.

Now we have a nerly complete brazilian VW model explanation. The link was about the "Fusca window question", and that seems to be correct.
