The Chamade is of the best examples for the "Wartburg-syndrome" (as I names it). In the early 90ies many East Germans, especially older people, preferred smaller and medium Sedans, while in this car-size the West Germans mostly had Hatchbacks. No kidding: around 85-90% of the German imported Chamades were sold in the East, the most R 19-Hatchbacks in the West. |
