I see semaphore just right next to the door and indicator window (I don't know how I call this :( ) above the original taillight.

Could this means 1953-57?

Absolutely right rjluna2, but 1953 only, as the semaphore disappear for model 54.

These taillights were used during 1953-1955, and trafficators were used as long as there were no flashing indicators (1961). 1955 can be excluded because in that year the Cabriolet had (amongst other features) a chromed stoneguard on the rear fender. Difference between 1953 and 1954 models were a different shape of the trafficators (ribbed in 1953, smooth in 1954) and changed wipers (strictly parallel in 1953, assymetric in 1954, i.e. a different left and right wiper). Therefore this must be a 1954 version.

@rljuna2: This version of back lamps has a specific nickname in Germany: "Herzchen-Rückleuchten" (little heart-back lamps). The freaks are very keen on it and they cost some hundred Euros -per piece-

At least all specific early-50ies-VW-parts are incredible expensive. As a wild guess I would say, that, if you want to buy this car above in original, used, but good spare parts, it will cost more than 50.000 €.

atom: annother sideswipe to the Swedish junkyards. ;) In 2000 I got a perfect 1958' engine-lid - for 100 Kronor. It was around 11 D-Mark, ca. 5.50 € back then.
But the half-legal junkyard (around Borlänge) disappeared by the EU-laws shortly later. :(

P.S. Some years ago a crazy freak has lost all his front teeth, because of these "Herzchen-Rückleuchten". He lurked around in the night on a big VW-meeting - and has stolen all of these back lamps. The loose of the teeth was caused by the VW-enthusiasts, who have caught him. :o

No problem. ;)

I just got two other cars in my mind, which got nicknames due their backlamps:

"Schlüsselloch-Kapitän" (= keyhole) /vehicle_297523-Opel-Kapitan-P-1958.html

and "Teenager-Titten" (I guess, you'll recognize the term  ) /vehicle_68607-Opel-Rekord-P2-1961.html
