According DVLA it's a 1921 Renault 7CC. That means 7CV/HP model?

Again a 1921 date on DVLA for a car that is much older...

This one would date from around 1910 - maybe an AG? We should be able to trace it from the plate - there must be a picture of it somewhere.

I have been advised that the AU series plates were issued in Nottingham beginning in December 1903. Assuming this car has its original plate it is most likely a 1903 or 1904 Renault AX.

AU13 is a 1908 Renault as listed on the Veteran Car Club of Great Britian's site.

Actual car here bottom right http://www.vccofgb.co.uk/pictures.html

The UK registration system was introduced following the Motor Car Act of 1903, cars built prior to 1903 were un-registered. Therefore Nottinghamshire either failed to register all cars in sequence or only registered very few cars in the early years. The only other early Nottinghamshire registration I can find is AU250 and is on a 1904 Celer but that was re-registered in 1967.

The Renault AX was produced from 1908 to 1914 so the AX type is likely but again not before 1908.

I was told the AU series went from 12/03 to somewhere in 1924. This plate could well have started life on another car and been transfered.

Hello , i'm new to this site as I was googling AU 13 , which was a 1908 Renault , owned by my late uncle , George Richards , of Richards Garage , Hucknall Road Nottingham , whose father supplied it new to a Dr Fox , and when he died in the 1950's it was willed to my uncle . I was bought up in Nottingham , and can vividly recall the car being renovated in Richards Garage .
I can also recall the car being leased to the film company .
The car was on display in the showroom for a few years , and I was lucky enough to go out in it . I have a couple of pics taken by my father of the car , and if I can post them , I will
The car was sold in about 66/7 by my uncles brother , while uncle George was in Devon visiting my parents , to where we had re-located after my father retired , and this caused a huge family row , causing my uncle to shut the garage , and ostracise his brother !!!!
