Is that some kind of Mitsubishi pickup truck? |
◊ 2010-05-12 15:37 |
Due the doors I'm rather thinking of a Peugeot 504... |
◊ 2010-05-12 17:37 |
I thought so. |

Yes,US-spec Peugeot 504 based,provably original pick-up -- Last edit: 2010-05-12 22:14:06 |

Why US-version? I don't think, it was filmed in America, as there is a Land Rover and a Mercedes T2. The square front lamps aren't original for the 504, as the back, too. |

Because have US spec indicators at front fenders.Front lamps actually arent original.Do you think that in Europe aren't US versions?Par exemple in Poland and in others Central and East Europe countries it was(and is)relatively very popular phenomen. Also in France I seen relatively much reexported US versions of franch cars.So no wonder for me,that in european movie can be US specificated car. |

Sure, there are many US-versions of cars in Europe (it's really annoying, how German classic-car-markets and meetings are overloaded with US-spec Mercedes, Porsche's, Triumph's, even Opel GT's and Karmann Ghia's ![]() So maybe the whole front (lamps, grille, bumpers) are completely different parts. |

But was the 504 Pick-up ever sold in the USA ? |
◊ 2010-05-14 21:28 |
This is my question, too. I forgot this in my posting. |

Here we have a real US-spec car in Europe: /vehicle_40424-Porsche-911-Targa.html The VW Rabbit in the background. |

I think rjluna2 was right, this is a Mitsubishi or Mitsubishi-based Dodge/Plymouth, instead of a Peugeot. Example: http://www.andysautosport.com/images/vehicle_top/plymouth_arrow_truck_79-82.jpg |

Eeeh, this movie was filmed in Spain. Wouldn't a (later "customized") 504 more likely? |

I don't think Peugeot 504 ever sold with dual rectangle headlights in our market, only 505 came out with USA spec dual rectangle headlights. Comments? |

Details such as the fuel filler cap (located just behind the right door on a 504), the mirror, the distance between the door and the front wheel (much longer on a 504), side marker and headlights rule out the 504, in my opinion. I still think it must be a Mitsubishi or derivate, maybe sold originally in Portugal where Japanese pick-up trucks are very popular. This Dodge D50 for instance, is remarkably similar: Link to "image.fourwheeler.com" And after all, it's a bigfoot which is likely to be imported from the US to Spain by its own owner. -- Last edit: 2010-05-15 11:21:47 |

Your right.I agree with Mitsubishi option after compare details. A propose rjuluna and ingo questions-Only 505 come out with USA spec rectangle headlight and also with 4 rounds headligts,USA spec 504's are sold only with 4 rounds lamps, but conversions after reexporting US spec cars to Europe are very common. And also I must admit,I don't seen ever US spec pick-up's.Only sedans and wagons. -- Last edit: 2010-05-20 17:36:35 |
