I am puzzled by this one .The picture is fuzzy and distorted .I do not see a back window in 3 but in 2 parts .More important, the hood sides are plain without louvres or trim , something not seen on most period US cars .The beltline curvature under the side windows extends to the front of the hood and the headlights rest on the catwalks. It has a single chrome strip located above the door handles and somewhat enlarging towards the front.Based on those I suspect a 1938 Oldsmobile Six F-38 Coupe .Point is that period Oldsmobiles had bullet shaped rear lights at belt hight. There are none here , but when magnifying the picture there seems to be a hole and some traces present at the place on which those rear lights were located. It may well be that those have been removed and replaced by lower mounted rear lights on the rear fenders. |

Concerning 1938 Cadillac V-16's , those had 3 slashes on the hood sides and on the fenders ,none of those are visible here. Also the rear end of the fenders on the Cadillac was less pointed and more squared off , the rear fenders having vertical taillights which is not the case here so I have my doubts about a 1938 Cadillac V-16. |
