These are New York taxi's as indicated by the rate stickers on the door. New York didn't require all taxis to be painted yellow until mid 1967. Prior to that date New York had a multi-color taxi fleet like Chicago still does. Chrysler products, particulary Dodge, were often used as taxis because the slant six was a practically indestructable engine. |
